Tell us a little about yourself and how you got into CrossFit?

After moving from NYC, I was looking for a similar workout/gym to join that had weightlifting and high intensity workouts.  I tried a bunch of places but nothing hooked me. I started going to hot yoga at Yoloha 3 days a week and kept driving by Nomad but was too scared to walk in or email.  Finally, I got the courage and went on in…no looking back!

What keeps you coming back each day?

I have to say at first it was the programming and the way I felt after the workout but after being part of the gym for months, now it is also about the community of people.  I am a little slow to warm up to others, but everyone is so welcoming and supportive. I am really enjoying getting to know all the coaches and members and I consider myself very lucky to have found this place!

What is your favorite at-home exercise to do?

Boxing and Running- I have a punching bag in my garage and the wonderful Folly Beach to run to.

If you had to do 100 reps of one movement (not running), what would it be?

Thrusters…love them.

What are 1-2 of your goals for 2025?

Build my Supportive Learning Coach Business- tutoring and teaching executive functioning skills to young adults on the Autism Spectrum.

Get back into running- 2 half marathons

Favorite lift?

Push Press

Least favorite Crossfit movement?

Box Jumps- I just can’t jump high and land lighty which bothers me.

Hometown?

The great state of Delaware, born in Newark and lived in the same childhood house until I went to college.

Favorite Charleston Restaurant?

Little Jacks- chopped salad, burger and chicken milanese

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?

A crossing guard for a school in a small town.

What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?

The Detroit Lions will still never make it to the Superbowl when you are in your 40’s.

If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?

Celine Dion

One thing about me people would be surprised to know?

I have eaten roadkill- deer.

If the Nomad coaches came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare?

I love to feed people, it is one of my love languages!  I would have a BBQ outside with lots of meats, chicken wings, sides and dips.

Give us a “Question of the Day” to use in class.

If you were to name a Dateline episode, what would you call it?
